Cats Haven is Indianapolis’s oldest non-profit, no-kill, free-roaming feline sanctuary. For over 35 years, Cats Haven has been serving the Central Indiana community by specializing in long term care for special needs and elderly cats. On average over 300 cats are in the sanctuary’s network, which includes feral colonies and foster homes in addition to those at the shelter house. Cats Haven operates solely off of donations from contributors and patrons, as we receive no state or federal funding.
Cats Haven Ltd. is a registered 501 (c)(3) organization and all donations are tax deductible.

Our Mission
Cats Haven’s mission is to provide a non-institutional (mostly cage free) sanctuary primarily for special needs cats and elderly cats that are accepted from other facilities and organizations. Cats Haven provides its residents with a life-long, safe, clean, and loving environment. Cats Haven strives to educate the public about the quality of life for special needs or senior animal companions, the importance of spaying and neutering and about other available resources for pet owners

Shelter Closed January 15 – April 15
Cats Haven shelter will be closed to the public through April 15th, 2025 to complete updates and improvements to the house.
